WARNING: HUGE FILE!!!!!!
that's what he said
one thing I did not note on here: you can do the linework in one layer, but if you have overlapping lines, where one is not visible beneath the other, I suggest you do it on a separate layer so you can cut the part that will be unseen without altering the other.
PLEASE COMMENT ESPECIALLY IF YOU FAVE OR USE!
I know who you are.
Part 2: working
Feel free to ask questions if there's something you don't understand or I didn't cover I'd also like to see your finished results if this helps you at all
My first tutorial! This is by no means a perfect technique, it's just the one I use to color my scans because I don't have a tablet. It's a nice technique--I think--for people who use a mouse (regular or touchpad).
Even if you don't have a scanner and you take slides (photos) of your sketches Kiddo, you can use this technique if you take a good enough picture. The second half of this tut will cover basic digital painting techniques that I use and a LOT of layer work.
I can also do a tutorial on photo retouching in GIMP if anyone wants it. I use GIMP for all of my photography as well. Which is why my cell phone pictures don't suck as much as they could lol.
I decided to do the tutorial about halfway through lining Sah's hair so that's why he's already been worked on a bit
